B.Tech admissions in India primarily depend on a student's performance in national or state-level engineering entrance exams like JEE Main, JEE Advanced, or state-specific CETs. 1. Eligibility Criteria

Before applying to any engineering program, candidates must ensure they meet the basic academic criteria. This universally includes passing the 10+2 board examinations with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry/Biology/Computer Science as core subjects. For premium institutes like NITs and IITs, securing a minimum of 75% aggregate in board exams (or being in the top 20 percentile) is strictly mandatory.

2. The Role of Entrance Examinations

Your entrance exam score dictates your institutional tier:

• JEE Main: The gateway to NITs, IIITs, GFTIs, and many top private engineering colleges.
• JEE Advanced: Exclusively for the top 2.5 lakh JEE Main qualifiers aiming for the IITs.
